Wates Considers Conviction
Last week, Year 10 and 11 students were given special assemblies by representatives from the Wates Group. In Washington, Wates are involved in the biggest construction project in their 125 year history, by building the new AESC Car Battery Gigafactory which will be operational by 2025, generating hundreds of jobs for our local area. Jobs and apprenticeships are already being created for the project, with many opportunities to learn on the job being available from Wates themselves. Our guests were keen to emphasise the need for conviction, recognising that life can be a constant uphill struggle and that, in order to succeed, you need to do more than just try at something but work hard to reach new goals and have the resilience and commitment to make the most of opportunities. This philosophy feeds into the apprenticeships that Wates have available, which offer fantastic careers potential for those future workers willing to grasp them with passion and commitment.
