The Aspire Programme develops character, confidence and communication, creating opportunities for students to grow as individuals beyond the classroom. Through dedicated learning experiences, students explore important values, develop their voice, and build the skills needed to contribute positively to their community. We encourage students to reflect on who they are, who they want to become, and how their actions can make a difference to others. Aspire is routinely tied in to parts of our lesson activities and assemblies as well as our Electives Programme (see below).

The Electives Programme
The Electives Programme gives students the chance to try new activities, discover talents, and develop skills outside of normal lessons. Through a range of experiences linked to our fundamentals for success, students develop character, confidence and communication while challenging themselves and learning new things. By taking part in different electives throughout the year, students show curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to become the best version of themselves. This links in strongly to our Aspire Character Curriculum outlined above.
Throughout Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), students will complete a total of nine electives.
Each year, you will take part in three electives, with one elective selected from each Fundamental of Excellence. The selection process requires you to choose a first-choice elective and a reserve-choice elective from each Fundamental for Excellence. Students are assessed throughout each elective and will have the opportunity to achieve an ASPIRE Achievement Award at Bronze, Silver, or Gold level.
