It has been a fantastic day for our Digital Innovation team! Our talented Year 9 students attended the Sunderland Digital Careers Celebration at Sunderland City Hall, where they proudly secured first place in the Active Travel category. 

Over the past few months, the team has worked closely with Sunderland Software City, developing their project management skills and responding to a real-world design brief. Their challenge was to create an innovative app to encourage active travel for visitors exploring Sunderland, before presenting their ideas to a panel of judges.

Their success reflects far more than technical ability. Throughout the project, students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience and creativity, working collaboratively to overcome challenges and produce an innovative solution with confidence and professionalism.

We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Sandhill View Academy on a city-wide stage. Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved achievement—you have set the standard for future Digital Innovation teams and shown exactly what can be achieved through hard work, creativity and collaboration.
