Awesome Athletes Compete for SHV
Students from Year 8 and 9 represented Sandhill View, competing against seven other schools at the Sunderland School’s Athletics Championship. Our students took part in all the running and throwing events. Our students were up against some tough competition as some of the athletes attending were club athletes. Students showed great effort and resilience in every event, and we managed to get some great results. Special mention to Peyton Lancaster (Year 8) who came 4th in the 100m final and Joseph Errington (Year 8) who came 5th in the 200m final.
Congratulations goes to the following pupils who performed exceptionally and qualified to represent Sunderland in the County Championships.
- Olivia Maddison and Jack Barnett – both pupils won their discus event to qualify
- Caleb Miller – Qualified in the shot putt
- Jake Dickson – Qualified in the 400m
Well done to all our athletes. Our next Sunderland School Games Competition is girl’s rounders on 6th and 27th June.
