Year 7 On Expedition
24 Year 7 pupils had a fantastic time in Blencathra. They developed new fieldwork skills, including completing a river investigation to identify changes in width, depth and velocity as we moved downstream. We completed activities including Bush Crafts, mammal hunts and team building games. They also developed some independent skills, being responsible for their bedding, packed lunches and tidying the centre after their free time. Mrs Parker and Mr Hodgson judged ‘Sandhill has talent’ where Jenson was crowned the winner for his very own take on the ‘worm’. The pupils were fantastic throughout the trip and even those who ended up having an accidental swim in the river did not complain about their soggy feet! It was an amazing three days where many memories were made.
