We were delighted to host a special day for our primary friends alongside guests from Kielder Observatory. Nestled in the Kielder Water and Forest Park in Northumberland, Kielder Observatory is part of a nearly 580 square mile dark sky zone, known at Northumberland and Kielder Water & Forest International Dark Sky Park. Our guests brought a taste of the breath-taking star gazing that can be had in the park with the help of an inflatable observatory that simulates some of the amazing skyscapes, constellations and planetary observations that can be achieved in the dark sky zone. Our primary guests certainly had their minds opened to the vast array of wonders our night sky holds as well as the fascinating subject of astronomy and stellar science.
