Smiles of Success For Our Social Entrepreneurs
On Tuesday our Year 8’s who have formed the social enterprise ‘Smile – men’s mental health matters’ went to City Hall today to attend a Dragon’s Den event. They had to stand up and pitch their social enterprise to a panel and in front of an audience of investors and competing schools.
They were commended on their professionalism and presentation skills and won an award for being the most developed enterprise out of the groups earning themselves a £50 investment into their future ventures. They have also received offers for investment, requests to stock sweet cones for private events and sold out their ‘share a sweet, share a smile’ sweet cones as well as their newly launched ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ campaign.
They have worked tirelessly all year on this project giving their free time all to support local charity Space NE which supports local men struggling with mental health issues. Miss Old could not be prouder of the growth mindset, social justice and independence shown from this group of budding entrepreneurs who have truly exceeded all expectations of what this club could achieve.
