SAS Extraction into Half Term

On the final day before half term, selected students took on our very own SAS ‘Extraction’ Fitness Event — an intense challenge inspired by the world-renowned Selection process of the Special Air Service. Students who demonstrated strong attendance were rewarded with the opportunity to take part in this notoriously demanding experience, designed to test both physical endurance and mental resilience.

The high-intensity course included endurance-based challenges, strength circuits and team-focused tasks modelled on elite training principles. While it was undoubtedly tough, students embraced the challenge with determination, teamwork and fantastic spirit. They were put through a gruelling set of activities including hurdles, a sandbag carry, log carrying as well as a lot of net crawling and team challenges involving a sled. Students were in teams and endured the wrath of water bombs, and super soakers and lots and lots of press ups. Their resilience was tested to the highest levels with a few casualties!

There was plenty of sweat — but even more smiles — as participants pushed their limits, supported one another and discovered just how resilient they can be. A hugely positive (and memorable!) way to end the half term break.
