Salter’s Discovery Day
On Wednesday, ten Year 9 students had the opportunity to take part in a Salters’ Institute Chemistry Discovery Day at Newcastle University. Students took part in a three-hour lab session producing aspirin, they independently followed a method in a fume cupboard and measured the purity. Following this a panel from the chemical industry answered questions on careers and pathways into different jobs.
