Printing Perfection with Year 7

Two Year 7 classes worked with a visitor from the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle. They learnt about the Lindisfarne Gospels and made their own versions of illuminated letters inspired by drawings reflecting their emotions. We even got to handle some real objects, like calf hide that the gospels pages are made of, and the minerals the monk who made the gospels would have used to make his own paint! The Lindisfarne Gospels is on loan from the British museum at the Laing Art Gallery and we hope as many people as possible go see it!
