Poems for the Planet Winners

We announced the winners of the Poems for the Planet competition that we launched following the National Poetry Day lessons in English and Geography. This year the theme was the environment and students were asked to write their own poems that encourage others to act on the climate emergency. We had so many fantastic entries that it was extremely hard for Mrs Patel and Mrs Parker to select the winners of the Waterstones vouchers. The winners in Year 9 were Liam McFarlane in Third Place, Liam Perry in Second Place and Lana Olds in First Place. The winners in Year 8 were Dylan Jane in Third Place, Roxanne Walton in Second Place and Macie McLaughlin in First Place. The winners in Year 7 were Ava Driskel in Third Place, Maisie Smith in Second Place and Lily Casey in First Place. Congratulations and well done to our budding poets.
