One of the things that is noticeable about our school is that a large proportion of our students make their way here and back home with their peers. The idea behind this ‘Postcode wars‘ challenge is as part of our broader attendance initiative to try and get pupils to encourage each other into school so that those who live near each other all benefit from a shared reward at the end of the week.

We have created eight districts of roughly 93 students each. They will be competing in a series of daily ‘matches’ Monday to Thursday over the next four weeks to win points for their ‘district’. The top district each Friday will all win an ice cream afternoon. 

The Districts are:

District 1 – Grindon East- Hastings Hill end

District 2 – Grindon West- The Broadway end

District 3– Silksworth, Doxford Park and Ryhope

District 4– Pallion, Pennywell, South Hylton and Ford Estate

District 5 – Plains Farm, Barnes and Chester Road

District 6 – Thorney Close, Farringdon, Moorside and Herrington

District 7 – The outliers- From Hartlepool to Springwell Village

District 8 – Hendon, Town Grangetown and Thornhill

Who will win? Only through teamwork will we find out!
