Green Fingers

The Eco Team gathered for a demonstration on how to plant trees and a walk around our school garden. As a school we have ordered 450 native trees and shrubs to plant around school creating vital wildlife corridors which is aimed at reduce the carbon footprint of our school. Students from The Bridge have been instrumental in the planting of trees and are excited about growing produce in the school garden to use in their cooking lessons.

Members from the Eco Team joined Sunderland City Council’s Environmental, Green and Sustainable team meeting with council leaders, partners, universities, and other schools. Students discussed the issues that young people of Sunderland face and strategies to promote sustainability around Sunderland.
