Girls’ Team in Tournament
Last week our girls football squad were on the pitch at Kepier for a local schools’ tournament. The girls played four games at a 7-aside tournament held at Kepier. They managed two wins, one draw and a loss.
Mention must go to Amelia Cooney’s excellent technique which led to her scoring the goal to see the girls secure their first win of the tournament, not without the help from an outstanding last minute save from Courtney Dunn to keep the three points and a clean sheet for Sandhill View. Llaney Bethwaite’s blistering pace and resilience, paired with the calmness and high football IQ of Millie Wiscombe provided plenty of attacking opportunities for Sandhill View. Rosie Errington’s relentless tackling and work rate throughout the tournament eventually paid off as she scored a late winner with the only goal of our 1-0 victory to round off a brilliant tournament all around for Sandhill.
All the girls showed an excellent attitude and did SHV proud.
Our team was: Amelia Cooney, Llaney Bethwaite, Rosie Errington, Courtney Dunn, Millie Wiscombe, Sophia Madden, Katie Conlon and Evie Scothern.
