Girls Get Set to Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
On Tuesday, representatives came from Baker Hughes to work with the Girls Get Set group to work on the project element of the course. This year, they were challenged to explore ways to reduce the school’s environmental impact by developing solutions focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling. Students took on a range of issues, from exploring alternatives to non‑renewable energy sources, to tackling water waste, to finding creative ways to recycle the large number of water bottles produced by the canteen each week.
This session also marked an exciting first: the Year 10 students working toward their Silver Award had the opportunity to mentor the Year 8s, who have recently begun their Girls Get Set journey as they work toward their Bronze Award.
