GCSE Results Day 2020
Socially Distanced Celebrations on GCSE Results Day 2020
We were delighted to welcome our Class of 2020 back into Sandhill View to collect their well-deserved GCSE results today.
After much uncertainty in national press, there were smiles all around as students celebrated receiving excellent results with teachers and friends.
Headteacher, Joanne Maw said:
‘Teachers and students have faced more uncertainty than ever before in the run up to these results and some BTEC grades still haven’t been released. There was no perfect solution to the removal of exams but we are pleased that the Government eventually decided to trust in schools to give accurate Centre Assessed Grades, which reflect each student as an individual, not simply a statistic. The new exam system is incredibly rigorous and schools collect data over years to build up a detailed profile of every student; today presents a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the long term achievements of so many of our students.’
Such success results from the hard work of students, dedication of our staff and the incredible support from parents and carers. We wish everyone continued success for the future.’
