Before half term, the Eco Team have been working extremely hard preparing the garden and polytunnel for Autumn and Winter. Members have also completed a session on tree identification and health checks on the existing trees that were planted last year. Members of the Eco Team have also learnt the importance of “right tree, right place”. We discussed the different trees that have been planted and why they have been planted in those locations, such as planting Hazel and Cherry trees which provide a natural food source around our school pond to attract wildlife. 

Over the next few weeks, we will be planting another 420 trees around school. Members will also be planting overwintering plants such as sweet peas and onions, in preparation for the 2023 growing season!
