Students have been commemorating Remembrance Day together. In assembly Miss Jobes spoke to students of why we recognise Remembrance Day each year and shared some of the inspiring stories of bravery and heroism of those who have given their lives at war protecting our way of life. Our school choir also gave renditions of ‘Fields of Gold’ by Sting and ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay to mark this poignant event. Pupils have also been at work in tutor time creating poppies to add to our very own model cenotaph to be displayed in reception over November. Finally, Remembrance Day itself was marked by a two-minute pause for reflection at 11am alongside the rest of the nation.
