Clear 9 Tackle Cybercrime & Explore Police Careers!
What an insightful and engaging three days it’s been for our Year 9 students! Last week, running from Monday to Wednesday, we held a special workshop focused on the critical issue of cybercrime and the exciting pathways into a career with the police force.
The highlight of the workshop was undoubtedly our visiting officer, Jamie. Jamie works closely with the National Crime Agency (NCA) on real-world cybercrime cases, and his expertise and enthusiasm were infectious. Our students responded exceptionally well to him, gaining a valuable perspective on the seriousness and complexity of digital investigations.
The students didn’t just listen; they got hands-on! They particularly enjoyed the sessions where they worked in teams to solve a hypothetical cybercrime using problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The week culminated in fantastic group work where they researched and delivered presentations on the potential dangers of cybercrime and, crucially, who to contact if they or someone they know becomes a victim.
It was a truly motivating experience that opened our students’ eyes to the dangers lurking online and the impressive career opportunities available in law enforcement and digital forensics.
