Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
Last week in assembly we were joined by a representative from South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Trust as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. Our guests spoke to students about the importance of wellbeing and mental health, siting examples such as signer Lewis Capaldi who has struggled with anxiety and panic attacks since being shot to fame. Speaking out about his problems Capaldi explored how the pressures of fame have affected him mentally and physically earlier this year in the Netflix documentary Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now. Our guest speaking outlined how the things we love and enjoy and are passionate about can be outlets for the struggles we may be having in life. Not only can these creative passions help to enrich ourselves, but they can also improve the wellbeing of those around us too.
