Building Careers Confidence
On Friday, some of our Year 10 students attended a Mock interview. We had employers from across the country come into school to interview our students. They prepared for the session in advance by completing a job application form and spent time analysing potential interview questions.
The students arrived to the theatre and were engaged with the session from the very start. Students were interviewed by the employer for ten minutes and then were given five minutes of feedback. Some students even went through the process twice. We observed the students throughout the process and felt an incredible sense of pride. They represented themselves and school incredibly well, showed fantastic body language and communicated well.
The feedback from the employers was amazing, some of them even said they would employ specific students right now. One representative from across the country has been moving around doing interviews for the past eight weeks and said our students were the best he has ever interviewed. When asked the students even though they were apprehensive enjoyed the process and reflected on the feedback. We wish them lots of luck with applications that will be happening for real very soon. Well done Year 10!
