We were delighted to be joined by Bridget Phillipson (Labour MP for Houghton and Sunderland South), Shadow Secretary of State for Education. After hearing about our new family breakfast provision she was eager to see first hand some of the amazing things we are doing to support our students. She sat down and had breakfast with some of our year 7 students, followed by our new Brilliant Breakfast Club for those students who have excelled in their year group the previous week. The morning ended with a tour of the school to see some lessons in action and the new facilities we have added to the building over the summer break.
