Our behaviour policy ensures we create a productive educational environment in which teachers are free to teach and have the confidence that an expected standard has been made clear to every pupil. The policy also gives our students optimal opportunities to learn but also provides them with a set of guidelines that are not only apply at school but in modern society as a whole.
Pupils must learn the below rules and uphold them at all times during their stay at Sandhill View.
In the classroom

Attendance and punctuality are essential, arrive on time.

Be equipped for all lessons.

Listen to, and follow, instructions without question.

Treat others, their work and equipment, with respect.

Allow others to work without interference.

Try to achieve your best.

Use all equipment (including computers) as directed by staff.
Around the school

Walk on the left on the stairs and in the corridors.

Wait quietly outside classrooms.

Act in a sensible and mature manner.

Always put litter in the bins provided.

Respect other people and their property.

Wear correct school uniform with pride.

Chewing gum is not allowed on the school premises.
Over the course of the school term all students will receive ‘Praise Points’ for demonstrating positive attitudes towards learning and behaviour as shown in the rewards ladder below. Every student will be kept up-to-date with their running total of ‘Praise Points’. Different levels of ‘Praise Points’ will equate to different reward categories e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond & Outstanding Performance. In the final week of each term students will be able to spend their ‘praise points’ on a choice of activities in ‘Activities Week.’
