Runaway Club Rock Year 7
Our Year 7 students enjoyed a special visit from Runaway Club, the Glastonbury-based four-piece bringing together rock, pop and punk influences with an energetic live sound.
The band — Angel, Reece, Sammy and Charlie — treated students to performances of some of their tracks before opening up about mental health, discrimination and bullying. Sharing experiences from their own lives, they offered honest advice about looking after your wellbeing, speaking out and knowing when to reach out for support.
There was also plenty of time for questions, giving students the chance to find out more about life in a band and the journey behind the music.
Since launching, Runaway Club have supported Maggie Lindemann on her UK and European tour, released singles including 6 Weeks and Exist, and are preparing to release their debut EP this October.
Students can catch the band live in Newcastle on Friday 30 October at Think Tank?, as part of their first UK headline tour.
It was a fantastic combination of live music, honest conversations and positive messages — and we’re sure many of our Year 7 students will be following the band’s journey from here!
