Introducing Our Electives
At Sandhill View Academy we want our students to become well rounded individuals and believe there are six key character values needed for this. We need students to be Ambitious, Sincere, Proud, Inclusive, Resilient and Ethical. Our Character Curriculum in school supports the development of these values and as part of this we are incredibly excited about the launch of a new program for years 7,8 and 9 called Sandhill View Electives.
The Aspire Programme develops character, confidence and communication, creating opportunities for students to grow as individuals beyond the classroom. Through dedicated learning experiences, students explore important values, develop their voice, and build the skills needed to contribute positively to their community. We encourage students to reflect on who they are, who they want to become, and how their actions can make a difference to others.
As part of this program our current Year 7 and 8 students will be going through a process of selecting Electives, giving them the opportunity to mould a lesson on their timetable to suit their passion and interests. Students have taken a copy of the option booklet home and we encourage parents to look at the exciting options available to students to help them with the selection process. Students will complete the selection process with tutor support on Monday and Tuesday.
