Lego League Legends
On Tuesday seven year 9 students took part in this year’s Lego League competition at Nissan. The students have been showing outstanding dedication and resilience giving up their lunch breaks to build and code their Lego Robot. During the competition the students showed teamwork, adaptability and resilience throughout. The morning consisted of taking part in multiple competition rounds with them increasing their score throughout every round; their highest team score was 160 points. They had received feedback from the judges and went away to apply the changes which was excellent to see.
After lunch they had their presentation section of the day; the students delivered a presentation to a panel of three judges from Nissan. They articulated themselves extremely well and all took part in discussing what they had been developing over the last few months and the robot they had built and coded. After the presentation they took part in the Knockout rounds against the other school where they came third.
During the awards ceremony, Mrs McKinnell could not hold back how excited she was, they had won a Lego Trophy for their Robot Design. She has been showing it off to everyone and it is proudly displayed in her room. The boys all received a Lego First medal to take home with them.
It was a fantastic day of fun and learning!
