Sandhill View Shines in Spectacular Summer Showcase
On Thursday evening the stage at Sandhill View came alive with the sound of music and dance as we hosted our annual Summer Showcase – an evening that truly highlighted the incredible talent, dedication, and spirit of our students across our Performing Arts and Music groups.
From the powerful energy of musical theatre numbers and heartfelt ballads from film, to spirited routines and performances inspired by indie rock and other contemporary styles, our students gave everything they had – and then some. Every act reflected hours of hard work and creative collaboration, and the pride from staff, family, and friends in the audience was palpable.
It was also a bittersweet evening, as we said farewell to Lewi, a core member of our performance family whose presence and passion have left a lasting mark on our community. Lewi gave a sensational final performance before heading off to study Performing Arts at Newcastle College this September. We know he’s destined for great things, and although we’ll miss him dearly, as a certain royal from Hamilton reminds us: “You’ll be back.” Break a leg Lewi – as they say in Theatre.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support the event. And, of course, thank you to the stars of the showcase: our students. Your creativity and courage on stage continue to inspire us all – it’s no mean feat to stand up in front of your friends and family on stage and perform as you all did – well done!
Here’s to a well-earned summer break, and to many more show-stopping nights to come!
