World Book Day

This year we will be celebrating World Book Day remotely on Thursday 4th March 2021. During online lessons students will be taking part in World Book Day themed activities, quizzes, and competitions. Every student will also receive a £1 book token on their return to school which can be used to get a £1 World Book Day book for free or to get £1 off any book or audiobook worth £2.99 or more. £1 book tokens can be redeemed in bookshops and supermarkets between Thursday 18 February and Sunday 28 March. Due to the national lockdown, participating booksellers will honour the tokens beyond the 28 March while stocks last.’

‘In honour of World Book Day, we are launching a whole school competition of ‘Bringing Books to Life’. This week we want students to show us how they can bring their favourite books to life from home by using their imagination. Students can interpret how they want to bring a story to life by transforming an inanimate object into a favourite character from a book, creating a visual representation of a favourite scene/characters from a story or reading a book dressed up as a character in a homemade costume.  Let your imagination run wild!

There are prizes to be won for both KS3 and KS4, an Amazon Fire tablet and Waterstones books. To enter, students need to take a picture of their creation and submit it via Satchel One by Monday 8th March 2021
