Mrs Maw was appointed as headteacher of Sandhill View in January 2019. She has since moved on to become our trust CEO and headteacher at Southmoor Academy. She has extensive experience of school leadership at all levels.

Before her first headship at neighbouring Grindon Hall Christian School,  she was Deputy Head at Harton Academy for over a decade. During this time, in addition to leading curriculum design, teaching, assessment, reporting, self-evaluation and quality assurance, she was seconded to support school leaders in a number of schools across South Tyneside. She led the HTSA Teaching School and was the Lead trainer in the North East for delivering Specialist Leader of Education training, working with hundreds of school leaders from across the region. She also spent a number of years as a teaching and learning consultant, training and coaching teachers and schools leaders.

She is passionate about raising aspirations and improving outcomes for the children here at Sandhill View and is inspired by the fantastic children, staff and parents she works with every day.
