Face Masks at SHV
As of Monday 7th September face masks must be worn in all corridors and communal areas of school.
This additional measure has been put in place to enhance safety within our year group bubbles, and for the safety of staff who are working across all bubbles.
We are also mindful of the fact that the local infection rate has risen since we published our original plans for opening (from 6 per 100 000 before school opened, to 9 per 100 000.)
They do not need to be worn in class.
They do not need to be worn outside.
They do not need to be worn in the dining hall.
If there is a specific medical reason why this cannot apply to your child, you must contact their Year Leader to arrange a care plan.
Please note: the amount of time students will be wearing masks in school is incredibly small!
It will simply be:
- As they walk to class at the start and end of the day, then to and from the yard at break and lunchtime (less than 2 minutes per journey)
- For the small amount of time when they move within their zone of the school, this is mainly for Year 10 and 11 students and is linked to their different option subjects.
Thank you!
