Trainee Detectives

Twelve of our Year 9 pupils recently took part in the inspiring Trainee Detective course delivered by Northumbria Police and
Bede College.

The programme explored joint enterprise, knife crime, and the realities of policing through the real-life case of Connor Brown. Pupils worked with genuine case materials, met crime scene investigators, learned about forensic science, practised lifesaving skills with vascular surgeons, and even visited a working courtroom to see how the justice system operates.
The week ended with a special presentation from Susan Dungworth, who awarded medals and certificates in recognition of the pupils’ hard work and maturity.

We are incredibly proud of their engagement, respect, and commitment throughout this powerful and thought-provoking experience.
