A group of Year 8 students took part in the RTC North STEMfest event, where they had the chance to explore how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) connects to careers across the North East.
Throughout the day, students rotated through four engaging zones:

• Space and Travel
• Technology
• Environment and Energy
• Manufacturing

Each area offered hands-on activities and insights into real-world applications of STEM, sparking curiosity and discussion. A standout moment was the Cyber Heist Challenge, where students worked in teams to decode clues and solve puzzles in a race to complete the mission. It was a fun and interactive way to test their problem-solving skills and teamwork. Overall, the event was a great opportunity for students to see STEM in action and think about the exciting possibilities it offers for the future.
