Salter’s Festival 2025
On Thursday, a group of ambitious Year 10 students stepped into the world of real science at the Salters Festival of Chemistry. In the Sunderland University Chemistry lab, these young scientists synthesised their very own Aspirin! Not only this but they had the opportunity to analyse the accuracy and purity of their compound using professional-grade equipment.
To top it all off, students had the opportunity to engage with a panel of chemistry professionals from a wide range of careers. They got a glimpse into the many exciting paths a future in chemistry can offer.
