Starting at Sandhill
We were thrilled to welcome Year 6 pupils from our primary feeder schools for an exciting three-day introduction to life at Sandhill View Academy. The visit gave them a chance to explore their future school, meet key staff, and ease into their upcoming transition to secondary education this September.
The week was packed with engaging activities—from an energising first assembly led by Mrs Dodd, to form tutor meet-and-greets, and guided tours of our facilities led by staff and student guides. Students also took part in hands-on challenges designed to spark creativity, encourage teamwork, and help forge new friendships. One highlight included literal bridge building, promoting both trust and confidence in a fun and constructive way.
To top off their experience, pupils competed in a variety of track and field events during our very own Primary School Sandhill Games. It was a fantastic few days of learning, laughter, and friendly competition.
We hope all our future students enjoyed their time with us, and we can’t wait to welcome them back in September—in smart new uniforms and ready for the adventures ahead.
