On Expedition
The first Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition of the season took place earlier last week, with pupils heading out on Monday and Tuesday for an unforgettable adventure in the stunning—but soggy—Lake District.
On Monday, students tackled a challenging 9-mile hike around Derwent Water, taking in the breathtaking scenery before setting up camp at Derwent Hill. Despite being tired and soaked from the rain, they showed great resilience by completing a further 6-mile hike to Threlkeld the following day.
The entire group demonstrated exceptional effort, teamwork, and determination throughout the trip. We are incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved, especially in such tough conditions. A fantastic start to their DofE journey—well done to all involved!
