Girls Get Set for a New Year
On Thursday, the GirlsGetSet cohort successfully concluded their year-long journey with an inspiring final event. The day featured a tour of Baker Hughes and a collaborative STEM activity with another school, where students tackled the challenge of detecting oil.
Throughout the day, the girls engaged in a range of enriching experiences, including participating in careers panels, assembling calibre sensors, and completing a data analysis task. A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to examine the company’s PIGS (Pipeline Inspection Gauges) and gain insight into the advanced technologies used in pipeline inspection and maintenance.
Two teams were recognised as runners-up in the GirlsGetSet project competition, with one group proudly receiving the Innovative Project Award for their outstanding creativity.
To mark the culmination of their efforts, all participants were presented with their Bronze Industrial Cadet Awards, celebrating their commitment, growth, and achievements over the past year.
