GCSE Geography on Tour!
Last week our Year 11 GCSE Geographers started their preparations for their GCSE exams by completing two fieldwork enquiries required for their paper three exam. This involved a trip to Robin Hood Bay where students stayed in the fantastic YHA Boggle Hole. They completed their physical enquiry on day one, collecting primary data by measuring the beach profile. The weather was kind, allowing a few hours on the beach. This was a lot of fun and we even had time to do some rock pooling and fossil hunting.
Day two started with a fantastic breakfast before a walk along the cliff tops to Robin Hoods Bay. Students collected primary data for their human enquiry while visiting a few shops. Students, Mrs Parker and Miss Douglass couldn’t resist an ice cream from Dollies, despite the rain!
It wasn’t all work – we did make time for fun, from evening practical jokes (Mr Atkin!!!) to card games.
A successful and enjoyable trip, where our students represented SHV proudly. Staff at YHA Boggle and members of the public all commented on how polite and pleasant our students are. We are super proud of them and know this trip will set them up for success in their Paper three exam!
