DofE Journeys Conclude
Recently, our second group of Year 10 pupils took part in their DofE Expedition and they have had the best weather so far! This group of lads completed their hike around Derwent Water, set up camp at Derwent Hill and even played some football on the campsite. After a restful night in their tents, they completed their second day by hiking through Keswick along the coast to coast route to Threlkeld.
Last week, our last DofE group participated in their expedition. These Year 9’s also hiked the Derwent Water Circular, passing through Keswick on their way back to Derwent Hill. Thankfully the weather held off for most of Monday, and the boys managed to set up their tents for the night. On Tuesday, the heavens opened and it rained torrentially… They managed to make it to Keswick before being forced to head back the way they came, as the weather became too harsh to continue onwards. This group showed great resilience throughout the brutal weather!
