On Wednesday 18th March, we had the pleasure of West-End actor Joe Sleight coming into school to deliver a drama workshop focused on the play Blood Brothers. Joe is currently playing the role of Eddie in the musical which is now playing at the Empire Theatre in Sunderland. Year 9 are also currently studying the play in their English lessons. Joe helped the students with the understanding of the characters and key scenes of the play whilst providing some insightful tips about how to perform these to an audience.

On Wednesday afternoon, 50 Year 9 students had the pleasure of attending the matinee performance of Blood Brothers at the Empire Theatre and they loved being able to see the play live and see Joe’s acting in action. All students who attended said how much they loved the show and were an absolute credit to Sandhill View.
