We had a fantastic afternoon at the academy last week with a special visit from the brilliant Unfolding Deaf Theatre. They led drama workshops for our deaf students, who took part with great enthusiasm and enjoyed learning new skills in a supportive, creative space.

The afternoon was made even more meaningful by its focus on inclusion. Our timetabled drama classes were invited to observe, giving hearing students valuable insight into the experiences of their deaf peers. Many chose to join in, collaborating confidently and respectfully.

All students represented the school beautifully, showing curiosity, warmth, and a willingness to learn together. A huge thank-you to Unfolding Deaf Theatre for sharing their talent and reminding us how drama can build bridges and foster an inclusive community.
