In the last week we’ve launched a trip to Japan in 2027 and been meeting closely with our partners to help raise funds towards the cost. On Wednesday night, Mr Hambling attended an event held by the Consul General of Japan at Newcastle University where Mr Abe from the Consul gifted the school various prizes to be used in our raffle. The event centred on a film, Sumodo which was shown after a lecture on this Japanese sport by Dr Shiro Yoshioka.

We’ve also been talking to our local partners at Nissan on how they can support our trip both here in Sunderland and in Japan. There is still a lot of work ahead for those going on the trip and we have just a couple of places left so if anyone is interested please ask Mr Hambling for information as soon as possible!
