Ms. Hill joined the Academy in Spring 2016 to take up the roll of Assistant Headteacher overseeing our English department as well as KS Three Achievement, Literacy & Transition
Her responsibilities include contributing to ensuring the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students, in accordance with the aims and curricular policies of the school.
She is very passionate about English and English Literature and has developed a particular love of Shakespeare. Ms Hill has also had had the privilege of shadowing Education officer of the Royal Shakespeare Company during her teacher training. Having initially started her career in Newton Aycliffe she eventually moved to East Durham where she had been teaching for the past eight years.
Her roll as English Curriculum Leadership is to oversee effective quality assurance and professional development for the English department which includes providing a strategic lead for literacy so that it has the maximum impact on achievement across the academy. She is also responsible for providing a strategic lead for raising KS3 Achievement across the academy in all subjects.
